Trademarks
– The validity term of a trademark registration in Vietnam is ten (10) years from the date of filing and can be renewed each time for ten years.
– Please provide us with the following documents:
- Original Power of Attorney signed by a trademark Owner (if a request for renewal is filed through WINCO LAW FIRM); (pdf file ) ( word.doc )
Note: Neither legalization nor notarization is required and an original POA must be filed at filing.
- Original Certificate of Trademark Registration (in case an owner wishes to record the renewal directly thereon).
Industrial Designs
– The validity term of an industrial design registration in Vietnam is five (05) years from the filing date and can be renewable at most two (2) consecutive times, five (5) years for each time.
– Please provide us with the following documents:
- Original Power of Attorney signed by an industrial design Owner (if a request for renewal is filed through WINCO LAW FIRM); (pdf file ) ( word.doc )

- Original Certificate of Trademark Registration (in case an owner wishes to record the renewal directly thereon).
Patent for Inventions/Utility Solution
– The validity term of an Invention Patent is 20 years and of a Utility Solution Patent is 10 years from the regular filing date;
– Please provide us with:
- Original Power of Attorney signed by the patent Owner (if a request for annuity is filed through WINCO LAW FIRM); (pdf file ) ( word.doc )
Note: Neither legalization nor notarization is required and an original POA must be filed at filing.
- Information on the Patent, i.e. Patent number, Patent owner, priority date, annuity year.
General note:
- Annuity/ Renewal fees could be paid in the duration of six months before the annuity/renewal due date.
- Late payment is acceptable providing that it is not later than 6 months from the annuity/renewal due date and the owner pays the surcharge of 10% of the renewal/annuity fee for each month late.
- Annuity/renewal due date is counted from grant date of granted protection titles.
